Ghosts haunt houses because they are emotionally attached to them, which can be a result of loving memories or something horrible which happened to them in that particular house. In some instances, ghosts may choose to communicate danger to someone living in the house, or to convey useful information. In addition, some ghosts may haunt a house because they have unfinished business; they return to complete some task left undone or to fulfils a promise made while alive.
